“The below article was published in the January issue of the Seaways magazine page 27, it was written in response to a recent article published by someone within the Wartsilla organisation, which basically said the the magnetic compass is an unreliable means of Navigation on board all Merchant Vessels.
I am a Professional Compass Adjuster and since I qualified back in 1977, have worked on board over 10,000 vessels, from Tankers, Bulk Carriers, Box Ships, Superyachts, Naval Vessels, Fishing Vessels, Ferries, RoRos, Tugs, you name it and I have worked on them, all over the world. The magnetic compass still to this day, plays an important part in safety of navigation.”
